The Club

If you want to join the club we meet on a Wednesday afternoon, 1pm-5pm, at University’s climbing wall in the Tom Husband Leisure Centre on Peel Campus.  As a paid up member of the SUMC the wall is free to use during these times.  There may be a fee to use the wall outside club times.

We have lots of friendly people willing to teach the correct skills to be safe and to have fun.

Come down and have a free taster session and if you like it, its only £25 to join for the entire year!!!

Club Climbing Equipment

SUMC has the following equipment that members can use for free:

- Harnesses

- Rock Shoes

- Helmets

- Belay Devices

- Ropes

- Rack (climbing protection, ie. nuts, quickdraws, cams etc)

- Crampons (for ice climbing)

We ask that the kit borrowed is looked after and returned at the end of the session.
