Our next trip will be the Spring trip 

9th – 11th March 2012

This spring we will be heading to Conistone Hostel for the weekend. We will be leaving Salford Friday evening, and we will stop off on the way for  fish and chips, we will return to Salford on the Sunday night. The trip is going to cost £35, this includes food accomodation and transport. We will be taking deposits for the trip next Wednesday (22nd Feb) so make sure you get down to the wall to secure your place on the trip. Previous Trips

21st – 28th January 2012

Once again we will be heading to Aviemore this January for the Scotland trip. If you have never been before this is the clubs main trip during the year. We stay in Chalets in Aviemore and go climbing in the Cairngorms. If it is your first time there are 12 spaces on a special winter skills course run by two of the best guides. The course teaches everything you need to know to climb safely in the Scotish winter conditions.

This year the trip will cost £180. You may also need to hire winter boots, this costs about £30 for the week.

Bonfire Trip

4th – 6th November 2011

Bonfire trip is coming round fast, just over 2 weeks to go!
The details at the moment:
We are staying at the Lower Gillerthwaite Field Centre near Ennerdale in the Lakes (http://www.lgfc.org.uk/)

As always we plan to have a few fireworks on the Saturday night, and hopefully 2 days of great climbing.
There are 40 bunks available, so plenty of room for everyone to come along.

Camping is available.

Please note the site generates its own electric, so ensure you have a torch with you. Also as you may expect it is unlikely there will be any mobile signal. However there is a payphone on site which accepts incoming calls, the number is 01946 861229.

Freshers Trip

September 30th – 2nd October 2011

This years freshers trip is being held at Caseg Fraith hut in North Wales.
We are aiming to leave Salford on Friday at about 7pm. We will be meeting at Castle Irwell and Salford Crescent train station (at the roundabout). If you are travelling down with the minibus please be at either castle Irwell or Salford Cresent by 6.45pm, if you are not going to be there on time please call one of the committee to let us know how long you will be. We wil make every effort to wait, but we cannot delay the trip by too long for one person so please ensure you arrive in plenty of time.

Once we have picked everyone up, we will heading up to the hut, stopping for tea at the chippy on the way. Lots of fun, games and drinking will commence late on into the night. Saturday and Sunday day, we will be climbing, if it’s not raining, with the opportunity to socialise more on the Saturday night.
There is loads of room for everyone at this hut with 30 Alpine bunks available, so hope to see loads of people there, if you are new to the club this trip is a great oppurtunity to meet some of the older members and get some experience climbing outdoors..

The cost of the trip will be £35, this will include transport, accommodation, and food whilst at the hut, breakfasts, lunches and tea. Don’t forget to bring your own drink. You will also need a sleeping bag, some warm clothes, a waterproof jacket, as we are going to Wales, and appropriate footwear for this tripg

The hut is located below Tryfan 3.5 miles north-west of Capel Curig on the A5.

I will try and get better directions prior to the trip.

The Bonfire Trip will be on the weekend of the 4th-6th November 2011.

At Low Gillerthwaite Field Centre in the Lakes.

Fireworks will be set off this weekend as well.

Annual Dinner Trip

We have now booked a hut for the Annual Dinner. We are going to the Blaen y nant hut (Mynydd climbing club hut). The trip will be the weekend of the 27th to the 29th of April 2012.

The meal and changing of the guard will be on the Saturday Night.

Day Trips

As well as the weekend trips listed above, we will also run day trips on a regular basis, generally we will visit the Peaks for these day trips. Details for day trips are often posted on the forum or discussed at the wall/ pub on a wednesday.
